Holiday Season got you feeling alone?

By Keith

Thanksgiving is next week, which means most people are already thinking about their Christmas Shopping needs.

In turn, they are also thinking about how they are going to be saving money this year with the economy in the toilet. Let’s face it, we are ALL looking for ways to cut back this year, and shopping is certainly one of the avenues in which we will be looking to save some dough.

So as a small business owner, now is the time to evaluate your business(and your competitions) and find something that will drive more local traffic to your location.

Of course not all businesses fit into the “holiday” niche, but most retail locations do. Grabbing customers attention is getting harder and harder every year, so the savvy owner will take advantage of current events to help drive customers.

How? That depends on your business, but I would certainly start by creating a promotional campaign that focuses on value and price. How about price matching? How about coupons? Direct mail campaigns? Try to work out a co-op advertising deal with other local businesses(non-competing of course), or even some form of Holiday contest.

Regardless of the “way”, the businesses that take that extra step and aggressively market their “message” will succeed. This holiday season could make or break many businesses.  Are you one to sit back and let things happen to you, or are you one looking to be proactive?

If you are looking to take that step and find you need a hand, feel free to give me a call or email, I would love to sit down and discuss ideas with you on a marketing campaign. Ideas do not cost anything so you have nothing to lose.

As someone who was raised in Leominster, and understand the importance of small business, I don’t want to see anyone go out of business. If there is anything I can do to help I will.
